The Gobbi
A magnificent troupe of dwarves were active in Rome around 1600. They were street performers who excelled at music and comedy. Callot's homage to these characters was a series of engravings of the entire troupe. Allen has meticulously re-drawn the lines to strengthen and clarify them, and added the coloring.
